Are you interested in how the church can engage a city’s most difficult problems? Are you motivated by leading others and help them develop spiritually? Do you think you may be called into ministry in an urban context?

Denver Community Church’s Pastoral Residency Program is an incredible opportunity for your consideration. We are seeking men and women who may be called to vocational ministry in the local church and theological training to join our staff team in a residency (internship) role. In an effort to promote healthy local church ministry preparation, Denver Community Church, in partnership with The Newbigin House of Studies, is offering this pastoral residency program that blends excellence in formal theological training with practical leadership experience in a church ministry setting. This residency program will provide the opportunity for ministry residents to discern their own calling while learning alongside staff in a local church setting and other students during training intensives. This year of hands-on experience in ministry coupled with a year of guided study should give the resident greater clarity on their vocational call, a distinctive advantage when seeking other ministry jobs, and the opportunity for advanced standing in a theological degree program for those seeking further study.

This highly selective residency requires 10 hours per week of applied work for ten months of the year (mid-Sept – mid-July) in broad-based exposure within Denver Community Church (DCC). DCC will cover 100% of the tuition and travel associated with the theological training intensives as well as a resident stipend. Currently we are receiving applications for 3 residency positions for Fall, 2019. Criteria for selection include spiritual maturity, strong character, ministry skill, references, academic record, and employment experience. In order to encourage diversity in pastoral training for those under-represented in the theological academy, DCC will give preference to such candidates (including women and ethnic minorities).
